ULTRASOUND--Help promote proper alignment of connective tissue for improved healing of muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

ELECTRICAL STIMULATION AND TENS--NMES is used for weak/paralyzed pets to help slow muscle atrophy.  TENS therapy reduces pain and muscle spasms.

PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD--

PEMF Therapy like the Assisi Loop may help reduce pain and accelerate healing.  The Assisi Loop is safe and easy for the owner to use between visits but should not be used by owners with electronic medical devices like pumps or pacemakers.


ASSISI LOOPS AND PADS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE BY PRESCRIPTION ONLY.

MASSAGE, MOBILIZATION, STRETCHING --Massage relaxes and stretches muscles to reduce pain and spasm, while mobilizations are skilled manual small joint and spinal movements to reduce pain and improve flexibility.

EXERCISES--Increase muscle strength and endurance, promote proper motion during walking and running, improve coordination and balance, and help burn calories for weight loss.

Dr. Weddle will discuss her assessment and available treatment options during your first visit.  Each patient will require a different plan, based on their injury, other diseases, temperament, and goals, as well as your own abilities and needs. Treatment sessions will range from 45 to 90 minutes and may be scheduled daily to weekly.  Therapy may be needed for several weeks, months, or long term, depending on the severity and chronicity of the problem. You will be instructed on how to perform certain therapies so that you may continue home care between visits.
